Literature Text

For you who only see your smile in pictures,
like memories of a past you that don't exist,
don't forget your muscle has a memory too--
and the right compliment can make past new.

For you who only feel a love in daydreams,
or memories of the one that fell through,
don't forget your heart is a muscle too,
and it remembers just as easily, if you want it to.

For you who only draw through projects,
like those you were encouraged to in school,
Don't forget that there lies talent there,
and unused it doesn't dry up, but pools.

The tendency to store past away in memories
is so damning to the future in your mind--
and if you dust off talents you thought lost,
you don't know what other Presents you could find.
I've been posting poems for my Friends' Collection and this poem came out at first seemingly unrelated..but as it formed itself, I kinda began to feel as though this was the poem for that unnamed friend..I have so many friends here and I can't name them all, nor could I claim to know them all so well as to write a poem about them..but that doesn't mean I can't write a poem for them..

So to the deviant community out there..This poem is For You..
